GOVAC CONGRATULATES OUR MEMBERS ON THEIR RECENT LIFESAVING AWARDS

Bill ,pictured here with his wife (& also GOVAC member )Sue, responded with the Otterkill Engine Company of Campbell Hall NY to a report of a rollover MVA. On scene he and the other members of the department found a critically injured female trapped in the destroyed vehicle. They managed to extricate the patient and working with GOVAC and Mobile Life Support Services prepared the patient for transport to the medivac Lifeguard 18. We are proud to says that this victim has made a great recovery and was present at the awards to tell them her self how thankful she was for all they did for her.
While working as an EMT, Alex was called to a reported child not breathing. Upon arrival Alex & her partner found a child in cardiac arrest. Working with Middletown police and Mobile Life Support services, Alex and crew preformed CPR & breathing on the child. After much hard work on behalf of all the responders, the child's heart began to beat again. We are proud to report that the child did make it & is doing well today.
On Saturday May 16,2008, the Orange Regional Medical Center presented its Live Saver Awards. Several cases were presented and the responders honored with beautiful statues. Some of the patients were there to thank the responders themselves. GOVAC was presented an award for livesaving that evening and we thank Orange Regional Medical Center for the honor, however we want to congratulate our members for their lifesaving work. Congratulations to Bill & Alex We are proud of you

Recently our Corps Chaplin Rev Ginny - Agent 99 - announced that she would be leaving us. She has been re-assigned to a new church in another state. After so many years here in Goshen it will be hard to see her go. She has been GOVAC's #1 cheerleader for so many years. She has been there for all of us, good times and bad. We wish her and her family well in her new adventure. On a beautiful spring evening there was a small informal party held in her honor.
